PostHeaderIcon Your Ideal Kitchen: Things You Have To Know

Planning Your Kitchen

When looking for kitchens Burningham, it is important that you take an informed role especially in the planning and designing stages.  Even if there is an array of designers that you can hire, knowing the science of kitchen designing would protect you from dissatisfaction and costly modifications.

Initially , you have to know the functions and uses of your kitchen . To achieve this, you have to identify the kind of lifestyle you have, the way you usually entertain guests, your cooking and preparation styles and of course, the appliances you will need and would want to have inside your kitchen .  If you are able to identify these points, you will not end up having the most beautifully designed yet least useful kitchen .

After which, the next thing to know is the concept of the work triangle . This concept is concerned with the positioning of the three kitchen stations namely; the food storage station, clean-up station and preparation/cooking station . Having an understanding about this concept is also importnat because each person has a unique take on things .  Your designer might place the preparation station near the clean-up station, but later on, you realize that you want the three stations to have equal distances from each other . Ideally, each leg (distance from one station to the other) of the work triangle should not be less than 4 feet and no more than 9 feet. If you add the total length, it must not exceed 26 feet. For the counter top, it should be 2 feet deep with a minimum circumference of 36 inches.

After knowing the concept of the work triangle, you also have to be aware of some commonly forgotten points that might give you a terrible headache in the future . First, the windows of your kitchen should give you ample ventilation . Ideally, your kitchen should have two windows facing each other . However, if you’re staying in a relatively hotter/colder place, you can modify the size or simply add another one . Ample ventilation is also needed to eradicated cooking fumes.

Second, the size of your kitchen should accommodate the number of people who usually eats inside and the appliances that you intend to put. Placing lots of appliances in a small kitchen is not a good decision .

Third, keep the kitchen floor polished all the time so as to prevent moisture from penetrating . Kitchen floors that easily get wet would not only expose you to accidents but also to insects such as roaches and bugs . Common preferences are tiles and linoleum.

Fourth, don’t be thrifty in the installation of kitchen sinks and waste disposals. This would prevent you from paying more .

Fifth, since the kitchen is often the best place to relax, and convene with other members of the family, it would be sensible to make it look attractive and pleasing . Try putting decorations such as paintings, photographs and vases . Just make sure not to exaggerate it.

Finally, cleanliness should always be a priority . You do some of the dirtiest chores in the kitchen, so, it is just sensible to keep it clean .
